{Guest Post} The Heart Link Network

Picture 1So many of us juggle many things – Our home life, kids, husbands, pets, and then our work life; where do we find the support to help us? I know that one place that has helped me is The HeartLink Network, a women’s small group networking meeting.

Our Heart Link Women’s Networking meeting begins with a light meal and socializing. This part of the event is where the bonding process begins. After the meal, women attendees receive 3 minutes to showcase their businesses, products or services and distribute literature. After the formal networking many women gather to connect, make appointments, learn about each other and share more deeply.

The East Windsor NJ meeting welcomes women from all of New Jersey and Bucks County, Pa. We are not industry exclusive, but we do not allow women from the same company to attend a meeting. However, we have both lunch and dinner meetings monthly, so there are opportunities and openings for many women in business and not just direct sales! We have hairdressers, Reiki practitioners, Travel Agents, Decorators and more!

You can get more information and sign up for an upcoming meeting at www.08520.theheartlinknetwork.com I know that after just one meeting you will understand why one recent attendee said “ I just wanted to thank everyone for the great information you all gave me last night!!! It was a great meeting as usual and I always love seeing all of you every month. I feel blessed to know all of you!!!!”

Feel connected, feel appreciated, feel blessed at the East Windsor Heartlink Network.

Deborah Napoleon is the area coordinator for The Heartlink Network.

Goals for This Week

Goals ConceptFor over a year now, I’ve been sharing my daily goals on the Raising A Family On  A Budget facebook page.  I list 5 things that I want to accomplish each day, and posting in an open forum has kept me accountable.

Since I have so much to do over the next 7 weeks to get ready for the baby’s arrival, I figured why not post my weekly goals here on the main page so that I can be accountable for them as well, and you will often see these broken down during the week as my Top 5 Daily Goals.

So here’s just a peek as to what I have on my plate for this week, which is full of end of the year activities at my children’s school, my daughter’s birthday party on the weekend, work at the university on Tuesday, and what real life looks like for a mother of 2 with one on the way.

  • Order edible cake topper for Emily’s birthday cake
  • Design party favor labels & decorations
  • Send labels & decorations to Office Max to be printed on card stock
  • Assemble favors
  • Bake & decorate cake – Friday
  • Clean out my coupon binder
  • Send expired coupons to the military
  • Order extra coupons from My Coupon Hunter
  • Contact Hammertime to schedule install of range hood/microwave
  • Attend both David & Emily’s parents’ day recitals at school
  • Grocery Shopping
  • Sell back books that are taking over my office floor
  • Donate old prom dresses/bridesmaid dresses that I have no use for
  • Make a consignor appointment at Little Boutique to sell off some of the little girl clothes that I have and won’t be needing
  • Send in rebate for HH Gregg
  • Send in rebate for P&G from ShopRite last week
  • Update BRU & Target baby registries so that the items I need are on there prior to receiving my 10% close the registry coupon
  • Put Shop4Charity & BDFL stuff into storage

So this is what real life looks like.  A busy week of stuff to do around the house in addition to normal housework, blogging and working.

What does your week look like?  Anyone have an equally busy week to tackle?

Businesses mentioned in this post are ones that I actually do regular business with and mentioning them is just a true picture of what my upcoming week looks like.  None of the businesses mentioned have asked me to post about them, nor do they know I was going to write this up today.

West Windsor Community Farmers’ Market Kicks Off 10th Season Tomorrow!

West Windsor Community Farmers MarketA few of my favorite things come with the month of May – my daughter’s birthday, our wedding anniversary, warmer days, having the windows open around the house, and local produce coming into season.

The West Windsor Community Farmers’ Market will be kicking off their 10th season tomorrow, Saturday 5/4, from 9a-1p with their seasonal market located in the Vaughn Drive lot of the Princeton Junction Train Station, just off of Alexander Road.  The farmers’ market runs each Saturday, rain or shine, through November 23rd.

Below is the list of this year’s farmers and vendors.

:: Farm Vendors

  • Beechtree Farm
  • Cherry Grove Farm
  • Chia-Sin Farm
  • Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms
  • ER & Son Organic Farm
  • Fulper Family Farmstead
  • Great Road Farm
  • Griggstown Quail Farm
  • Hopewell Valley Vineyards
  • Krowicki Farm
  • North Slope Organic Farm
  • Silver Forge Farm
  • Stults Farm
  • Terhune Orchards
  • WoodsEdge Wools Farm

::  Non-Farm Vendors

  • First Field
  • FunniBonz Barbeque Sauces, Rubs & Marinades
  • Good Times Kettle Corn
  • Happy Wanderer Bakery
  • Jammin’ Crepes
  • Nice and Sharp
  • Stony Brook Orchids
  • Sweetly Spirited Cupcakes
  • Terra Momo Bread Company
  • The Artisan Tree
  • Tico’s Eatery & Juice Bar

::  Health and Wellness

  • The Touch That Heals

::  Community Groups

  • West Windsor Bicycle and Pedestrian Alliance
  • West Windsor Arts Council
  • Friends of West Windsor Open Space
  • Yes, We Can food drive to benefit Crisis Ministry of Princeton and Trenton
  • University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro
  • Twin W First Aid Squad

While many of the purveyors accept credit cards, not all of them do, so come prepared and bring cash so you don’t have to turn down any of the delicious and delectable finds you come across at the market.

The market is family friendly, with ample parking, plenty of places to sit down and chat with friends over refreshments purchased during the market, weekly entertainment, and a layout that is conducive to shopping even if you have a stroller with you, and the market is also wheelchair accessible (note – you are in a parking lot, so there are obvious bumps and stones to be cautious of).

Since this sale does take place outdoors, please keep in mind that nature is all about – this means rain, sun, wind, bugs, and later in the summer – heat.  Please plan accordingly to have the most enjoyable trip to the market!

I already have my alarm set for tomorrow morning (I’m actually setting an alarm on a Saturday for this), and have cash on hand.  Besides fresh local produce, what am I looking forward to most about opening day at the West Windsor Community Farmers’ Market?  Well, lets just say I have a bit of a sweet tooth, and the best Molasses Ginger Cookies EVER will be at the Happy Wander Bakery booth.  I also am in need of FunniBonz BBQ sauce, mushrooms, and cheese, so you know I’ll be strolling the market for a little while checking it all out, and filling my bag up with delicious items to prepare meals for the week.

Do you want to know more about the West Windsor Community Farmers’ Market?  Check them out on Facebook or their main website.

This post is based on my own opinions and experiences at the West Windsor Community Farmers’ Market.
