{Local News} Morrisville Borough Spring Water Main Flushing

local newsThe Morrisville Borough (PA) water department will be conducting their spring flushing of the water mains the week of April 29th.  Flushing will take place between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Residents in the areas being flushed may notice a slight discoloration in the water and low water pressure during the period when flushing is in progress.  The disturbance, if any is usually less than an hour duration.  Residents are advised to refrain from using water for drinking, home dialysis, or clothes washing while the flushing is in progress.

For more information, turn to Comcast channel 22 or Verizon channel 38.

Egg Prices

egg pricesWith Easter just a few days away, eggs seem to be on my mind more than usual.

Are you looking for the best prices?

Here is a round up of stores in our area.  Prices are taken from their ads as well as from a few quick phone calls.

  • ShopRite – $1.99/18 large eggs
  • Wegmans – $1.79/dz
  • Aldi – $0.78/dz
  • Bottom Dollar – $0.78/dz
  • CVS – $2.99/dz
  • Rite Aid – $2/dz
  • Halo Farms – $1.29/dz
  • Whole Foods – $3.89/dz
  • Trader Joes – $1.59/dz
  • McCaffrey’s – $1.89/dz

Since we need eggs for dying, as well as for making quiche for brunch and baking, it looks like I’ll be hitting up our local Bottom Dollar to get 4dz at the lowest cost.

ShopRite of Warminster: Triple Coupon Update

shoprite-300x225I just called the ShopRite of Warminster for this week’s triple coupon update, and they are still doing triples.  The woman I spoke with said that there is a minimum purchase requirement of $75 before the coupons, otherwise they will only double within the stores regular coupon policies.  If you are shopping for your family, and not just trying to get a few freebies, you know a $75 shopping trip before coupons is extremely easy to do.

And in response to several not so friendly emails and comments that I’ve seen lately, I decided to ask why they changed the minimum purchase requirements, and was told that this was always the plan since in years past there has always been a minimum purchase requirement of $50-100 to be able to have your coupons tripled, and it has absolutely nothing to do with local bloggers promoting the deals.

{Last Chance} $10 for $25 to Spend at Town Crier Bakery

Town Crier BakerySet in Bucks County’s splendid Peddler’s Village, Town Crier Bakery pleases patrons with creative, made-from-scratch concoctions:

Even better, like with all Living Social Deals, when you have 3 friends purchase their deal using your unique link, you will get your deal for FREE!

Triple Coupons at ShopRite of Warminster

shoprite-300x225Here is your weekly Shoprite of Warminster update – They are still doing TRIPLES!

I called on Sunday, and triple coupons are still on. They will triple up to 4 of the same coupon, and coupons with a face value up to 99 cents will triple. Over 99 cents, and you only get face value.

This week’s new tidbit that I just found out – they also take ALL Giant coupons! That means whether it is for an item or off purchase they’ll take it, so don’t forget your $5 off of $50 Giant coupon from this week’s circular when shopping at Shoprite.

So that said, you know where I’m planning on going later today to get my grocery shopping  finished for the week.  With the triple coupons, I can justify the additional distance because I save so much more.  If you are planning on making the trip, and this isn’t your usual grocery store, make sure the amount you save is going to be more than the amount you spend in gas to get there & back.

I have a friend who came up from South Jersey to do her grocery shopping, and the additional savings was only $1 because she left most of her coupons at home.  Plan for it.  Be organized.  And make sure its worth it!
